Welcome to "Hoods of Distinction"
Hello.... my name is Ron Rollins, Master
Hood Maker. I have been producing falcon hoods for over 35 years. I have
made hundreds of hoods over this time and with each hood I make, I learn
something new. I have applied what I have learned over the years to continually
improve my hoods both in "fit" and "finish".
Much to my dismay, due to ongoing physical disabilities, I can no longer make hoods
"on demand". I am however using a highly skilled apprentice hood maker to make Rollins
"Field Grade" hoods. His name is Mr. Santiago and he currently resides in Peru. He has lived in Peru his entire life (40 years) and has made and distributed falconry equipment throughout South America for many years.
Mr. Santiago's skills and craftmanship came the same way as mine did, by reading many books and developing unique techniques. He has great knowledge of the history of Spanish falconry that goes back more than 1000 years. But most important, he has the soul of a falconer and of a craftsman. I have tremendous confidence in Mr. Santiago and feel that once you see his work, you will be convinced that he has the same attention to detail and hood construction skills as I possess.
The hoods come in the same sizes of all of my New Millennium blocks.
Pricing is as follows:
| Plain
Brown Field Grade* |
$75.00 USD
(plus $5.00 S&H) |
Sizes 2.5-16
(47-66 mm) |
| Black
Dyed Field Grade* |
$85.00 USD
(plus $5.00 S&H) |

(47-66 mm) |
* These two hood designs are to me used in the field everyday and the fit is better than any other hood on the market today.

My hoods today are "distinctively" different than
anything I have made in the past. In addition, I feel I am producing a hood that
is "distinctively" different than anyone else's hood available in today's
market. With this said, I invite you to explore my site and discover for
yourself.
